RECENT EXPERIENCE
BA School of Business and Finance (BASBF) is a state-founded higher education institution, which has been one of the most recognised business schools in Latvia.
Recent projects:
- Research project “Quadruple Helix Concept (QHC) as base of the next generation PPP model” (lzp-2020/1-0062), 2021-2023 – Project is about: How to involve society (public) in the development of public infrastructure and objects assuming the circular economy principles3
- Research project “The Impact of Covid-19 on Sustinable Consumption Behaviours and Circular Economy (Nr. lzp-2020/2-0317), 2020 – 2021. – Project was about – interdisciplinarity by interlinking sustainability with personal sustainability, financial sustainability and people physical and mental well-being during and post COVIS-19.
- Recently developed ERA-NET project proposal “Scale-Up and Scale-Out Capacity for Sustainable Urban Transformation”
- Erasmus+ KA2 project “Inclusive Digital Education – a Tool to Understand Circular Economy” 2021-2023. Project is about: developing online study course (MOOC) abaout the Circular economy and digital mentor for teachers and lecturers4
- Research project “Management of Circular Business Models and Projects within Economy of Latvia”, 2020.
- Research project “Perspectives of the circular economy within Baltic states”, 2019.
WE OFFER

- Possibilities of wider dissemination of project results throughout academic and business networks in national and international levels, for example Chamber of the Trade and Commerce, Associations of particular industries and other.

Liga Avena, PhD cand.iur.
Fields of expertise:
Dzintra Atstaja5 obtains PhD in Economics. She is a Professor and the head of Research Laboratory of Sustainability, Efficiency and Effectiveness of BA School of Business and Finance (Latvia) and a senior researcher in Riga Stardins University. She has extensive experience in projects regarding the green and circular economy, she is an author of almost 150 publications and has participated in numerous scientific conferences and projects. She has academic and professional expertise in areas of sustainability, circular and green economy and environmentally responsible manufacturing. She has been a team leader of various research projects, recent projects are “Quadruple Helix Concept as base of the next generation PPP model”, “Circular Economy Perspectives in the Baltic States” and “Management of circular economy business models and projects in the Latvian economy”.
Inga Uvarova6 is a PhD candidate in business administr. and two Master degrees in Economics and in Education Science. I.Uvarova is an experienced research and development manager at ArtSmart ltd. Inga is a PhD researcher and an assitant professor at BA School of Business and Finance (Latvia). I.Uvarova has an experience in working as a sustainability consult, researcher and impact evaluator, research manager, curriculum developer and faculty lecturer. She has been a Team leader of approx. 10 research and a key researcher of approx. 20 researches in last 10 years. Superior communication, presentation, organization, research, writing and problem solving skills; highly developed leadership. She is an author of publications in the field of the circular economy, circular business models and innovation. Research interests: circular economy, circular business models and innovation, sustainability of various industries and business model innovations, support and green finance issues.
Liga Avena, PhD candidate in Law in RSU. Main areas of expertise include commercial and public law, public procurement, regulatory requirements in construction, investment project development. L. Avena has an extensive experience in management of EU funded projects. L.Avena is an author of several publications on public procurement, assessing pricing policy, quality criterion and social responsibility.
